Adelaide co-captain Rory Sloane is feeling “quite good” following his hamstring injury, but concedes there are still hurdles to pass before selection.

Speaking on Triple M’s The Rush Hour, Sloane revealed he was still a chance to play in Round 12 against Greater Western Sydney.

“Probably fortunate enough that I didn’t go back on (against Melbourne),” Sloane said.

“I was almost able to come back on, but felt it a bit too much.

“I’ve had a couple of runs and it’s feeling quite good at the moment so I’ll give myself every chance to play.”

Adelaide utility Bryce Gibbs returned to the side in Round 11 following a week out.

Ahead of team selection on Thursday, Sloane said Gibbs had “plenty of roles” he was capable of playing for the Crows.

“He’s so versatile,” he said.

“He’s played down back, he’s a great ball user in the outside role and we know he’s a gun midfielder.

“He did a fantastic role for us on (Clayton) Oliver when he had 15 touches.”

Earlier this week, Carlton sacked coach Brendon Bolton and appointed former Adelaide assistant coach David Teague as the caretaker.

Sloane jokingly gave a shout out to Teague’s “beautiful hair” before saying he expects the Blues to embrace a more attacking approach to football.

“A lot of us love Teaguey,” Sloane said.

“It will certainly free Carlton up, I’m excited to watch them.”
