A dominant first half has set up a 55-point win for the SANFL Crows against Central District on Saturday afternoon.

Adelaide had kicked eight goals to two by the major break before going on to win 15.10 (100) to 6.9 (45) at Elizabeth Oval.

Small forward Tyson Stengle booted four goals and Kieran Strachan grabbed three of his own.

Bryce Gibbs impressed in the midfield, finishing with 32 disposals, four clearances, four tackles and a goal.

He was well supported by Riley Knight and Patrick Wilson - who both had 28 disposals - and Chayce Jones who finished with 27.

Experienced pair Andy Otten (16 disposals, four rebound 50s) and Matthew Wright (14 touches and eight marks) led from the front.

State League coach Heath Younie said he was proud of how the players finished the game.

“I’ve been really impressed by how the young players have come in, and how the senior players have brought them in,” Younie said.

“Today is a by-product of that.

“We could have easily just won by five goals, but to put our foot down and finish off strong, that’s going to hold us in good stead for the second half of the year.”

Younie said that a desperate Gibbs smother in the dying seconds on the game summed up the  midfielder’s attitude in the match.

“He was outstanding, even that last smother shows how engaged he is,” Younie said.

“Real credit to him, he wants to do the right things for the footy club.”

Former Crows player Troy Menzel kicked two goals for the Dogs.

Young defender Will Hamill sat out the second half of the match after suffering a concussion and will be assessed during the week.

The SANFL Crows have a week off due to the SANFL split round next weekend.

Their next match will be on Saturday, June 29 against Sturt.
