Key defender Daniel Talia played all 22 games in 2019, earning himself a place in the extended 40-man All Australian squad.

Talia topped the Club for total spoils, finishing with 152 (6.9 per game) for the season - the next closest was Jake Kelly with 94.

The 27-year-old's spoil count landed him third in the AFL (behind Brisbane's Harris Andrews and Fremantle's Joel Hamling) for the season.

Adelaide’s No. 12 was one of seven Crows to play every game with Talia leading the Club for total time spent on the ground.

Talia was also included in the AFL Team of the Week in Round 21 following a strong performance against the Eagles in Perth.

Best of all, he and his wife Megan announced in May that they were expecting their first child in September.

Round 8 v Port Adelaide

Talia’s work in Round 21 against West Coast deserves praise; he kept two-time Coleman medalist Josh Kennedy to just one goal and six touches.

But against the Power in Round Eight, Talia was everywhere.

With 11 one-percenters, including 10 spoils and one vital smother that prevented a certain goal for Port Adelaide in the second quarter, Talia earned himself a place in the best.

Although he did suffer a knock to his nose, the key defender was able to play on with some stylish tape around his head.
