Kuwarna midfielder Sid Draper has undergone surgery after a second round of scans confirmed a fractured jaw.
Draper came off the field during the Club’s SANFL clash against Sturt last Saturday after a nasty collision in the first quarter, and was immediately sent for further investigation.
Despite initial scans clearing the 19-year-old of any damage, a follow-up scan identified a fracture.
Kuwarna Executive General Manager Football Adam Kelly said it was disappointing news for the young midfielder.
“It’s unfortunate for Sid who has had to endure a stop-start beginning to life in the AFL system,” Kelly said.
“While initial scans seemed to clear him of anything significant, he was sent for a follow-up assessment which identified the fracture.
“It’s certainly not the news we wanted to hear for Sid and unfortunately it has required surgery.
“We’ll have a clearer understanding of the timeline post his recovery from surgery.”
