The Adelaide Football Club joins the sporting community in recognising Neale Daniher’s remarkable legacy, not only as a respected player, coach and leader, but as one of football’s most inspirational Australians.
On behalf of the Crows community, the Club expresses its deepest condolences following the passing of Neale, who showed immense strength and spirit in his long battle with motor neurone disease (MND).
He had an extraordinary ability to unite people through his humour, humility and unwavering optimism.
His tireless work raising awareness and funds for MND allowed all Australians to better understand the disease, or as he called it, ‘the Beast’, and the need for greater research.
Neale built FightMND into a movement that has raised many millions of dollars for research and support programs, inspiring clubs, supporters, and communities.
Everyone at the Crows extends their heartfelt sympathies to Jan, Bec, Ben, Lauren, Luke, and the entire Daniher family.
Neale’s legacy will endure in the AFL’s Big Freeze Round, in the continued work of FightMND, and in the many lives changed by his advocacy.
Rest in Peace.
