Adelaide is proud to help continue the late Neale Daniher’s fight against motor neurone disease by hosting the third SA Freeze event at its next home match against Geelong on Thursday, June 4.
Daniher, a former AFL footballer, coach and Australian of the Year, fought a gallant battle against MND since his diagnosis in 2013, before passing away on Monday.
The fight against the disease does not end with Neale and, for a third year running, local sporting and media personalities will attempt to beat the chill on the hill by being dunked with icy cold water on Adelaide Oval’s iconic hill.
The ‘beat the chill on the hill’ will form part of a pre-match and half-time ‘Freeze’ activity at the Round 13 clash.
Crows fans are encouraged to help raise vital funds for MND research and care initiatives by purchasing a Big Freeze 12 Beanie.
They will be available to buy from the South and East gates at Adelaide Oval on the night, as well as at the Adelaide Railway Station tunnel.
Beanies can also be purchased online here and donations via a digital beanie can be made here.
The SA Freeze will kick-start a big weekend for FightMND – an organisation working to raise awareness and fund research into MND – and it culminates with the 12th Big Freeze, to be hosted before the Melbourne v Collingwood clash at the MCG on the King’s Birthday Monday.
The Crows will reveal the names of the SA identities who will beat the chill on the hill early next week.
Thanks to FightMND and the generosity of the charity’s supporters, more than $141 million has been invested into research and programs supporting Australians affected by MND.
Adelaide faces Geelong at Adelaide Oval on Thursday, June 4, at 7pm.
Tickets to the game are available here.
