Adelaide forward Taylor Walker will miss Thursday night’s clash with the Western Bulldogs after his one-match ban for rough conduct was upheld by the AFL Tribunal.
Walker was charged with rough conduct against Geelong defender Connor O’Sullivan during the third quarter of Thursday night’s game at Adelaide Oval.
The incident was graded careless conduct, medium impact and high contact.
Walker and his legal counsel, Andrew Culshaw, argued that although the incident was rough conduct, it should not have been graded as high contact and that O’Sullivan’s shoulder collided with Jordan Dawson, not his head.
“While it’s a disappointing outcome we respect the decision of the AFL Tribunal,” Adelaide Executive General Manager Football Adam Kelly said.
“We will not be pursuing this further.”
