Adelaide midfielder Chayce Jones will miss Saturday’s SANFL clash against North Adelaide after an appeal of his one-match ban for striking was dismissed by the SANFL Appeals Tribunal.
Jones was charged with striking South Adelaide’s Harley Sparks during the third quarter of last Saturday’s game at Magain Stadium.
Earlier this week, the SANFL Tribunal upheld the Match Review Panel’s one-match ban, but the Club appealed the decision at a hearing on Friday afternoon.
Adelaide General Manager Football Operations and Compliance, Tom Hurley, said the Club respected the decision of the SANFL Appeals Tribunal.
“While it’s a disappointing outcome, we respect the process and consider the matter closed,” he said.
