More numbered guernseys signed by every Adelaide AFL player to have worn the jumper since 1991 are now being auctioned.
The No.6, now owned by Dan Curtin and made famous by high-flying Tony Modra, is among this year’s collection of 23 signed guernseys.
Jumpers signed by new Adelaide Football Club Hall of Fame inductee Darren Jarman (No 3), inaugural Crows captain Chris McDermott (10), 1991 Club Champion Mark Mickan (25) and two-time premiership captain Mark Bickley (26) are also available in the online auction.
Adelaide’s Past Players and Officials Board is running the exclusive sale through Official Memorabilia Auctions. Eighteen signed guernseys were sold a year ago.
PP&O chairman Sam Jacobs said the auction was a key fundraising event to support the group’s welfare fund, and offered fans, collectors and businesses the chance to secure a prized piece of memorabilia.
“Last year’s auction was very successful and we think there will be plenty of interest in this year’s selection,” Jacobs said.
Other numbers included in this auction are 4, 18, 20, 21, 22, 25, 28, 31, 37, 38, 40, 41, 43, 45, 46, 47, 48, 50 and 51 and they feature inaugural Crows, premiership players, captains, Club Champions and All Australians.
The online auction finishes on June 23.
The PP&O donated a full set of signed jumpers to the Club to be kept and updated when new AFL players debut.
“It’s a great way to honour and acknowledge all the players who have represented the club in the AFL and connects the past with the present,” Jacobs said.
