Seven Crows are set to feature in the AFLW’s inaugural Australia v Ireland match at North Sydney Oval on August 1.
This week, the League released two 25-player squads for the match, with four Crows selected in the Ireland side and three included for the Australians.
Midfielders Niamh Kelly, Grace Kelly and Amy Boyle-Carr, and key defender Kayleigh Cronin, have all been named for Ireland, while midfielder Ebony Marinoff and defender Chelsea Biddell have been selected in the Australian squad.
Adelaide’s two-time AFLW premiership player-turned-coach Courtney Cramey will be an assistant coach for the Australian team.
Crows Executive General Manager AFLW Bree Brock said the Club was thrilled for the seven representatives.
“The AFLW Australia v Ireland match promises to be a wonderful celebration of the continued growth of women’s football,” Brock said.
“Our strong Irish contingent featuring prominently is further evidence of our Club’s continued connection with Ireland.
“And as for the Aussies, we’re thrilled to see not only Ebony and Chelsea playing, but also Courtney coaching given her pedigree within the game.”
Cramey said it was a privilege to take on an assistant coaching role in the game, which will also be the first professional international match of Australian Rules Football.
“In 2017, I played for the Allies against Victoria in a game at Marvel Stadium which felt at the time like a very historical moment for the evolution of our game ... this international representative match will take it to a new level,” Cramey said.
“I’m really excited for our players; it’s an amazing opportunity to be a part of history.”
