Adelaide Coach Matthew Nicks has confirmed the Club’s coaching lines will remain the same as the 2019 season.

Nicks confirmed the news to the media on Thursday following the Crows' first pre-season training session:

Defence: Marty Mattner

Midfield: Mick Godden

Forward: Ben Hart

Ruck: Matthew Clarke

Development: Heath Younie

Nicks said he had full faith in his "outstanding group of assistants".

“Michael Godden has stepped up into that midfield role and really driven our training standards,” Nicks said.

“With Clarke, Hart and Mattner, the coaches I am working with, it is an outstanding young group.

“So I’m confident going without that senior assistant for 12 months."

Earlier in November, football director Mark Ricciuto revealed the Crows would not appoint a senior assistant coach to replace Scott Camporeale.

“Senior assistant role, there isn’t going to be one,” Ricciuto revealed on Triple M.

"Matty Nicks just wants to have less voices and give the line coaches more of an opportunity to play a bit more of a dominant role this year.

"So, they're going with less voices."

Adelaide's second-to-fourth-year players returned to training on Thursday and were joined by young defender Tom Doedee, who missed the 2019 season following an ACL injury in Round One.
