Adelaide has named a 21-player team for its opening round match against Sydney at Unley Oval on Sunday.

As revealed on Thursday, the Crows will unleash four debutants, with Chloe Bown, Olivia Gorman, and Juliet Kelly named to play their first League game.

Recruit Grace Egan will make her Club debut, having impressed since arriving at West Lakes from Richmond during the off-season.

Executive General Manager Women’s Football Bree Brock said the four debutants had earned their selection through strong pre-season performances and would add fresh energy to the team.

“It’s super exciting to have four new players don the Crows jumper for the first time in Grace, Chloe, Juliet and Olivia,” Brock said.

“All four of them have worked very hard for their opportunity over the pre-season, they’ve impressed everyone at the Club with how they’ve gone about their training.

“They will definitely give the group a boost with their energy, and we can’t wait to see what they can do this Sunday.”

Ebony Marinoff will lead the side as the sole Captain for the first time, under new Senior Coach Ryan Davis.

As revealed in Thursday night’s squad announcement, Marinoff will headline a new-look on-ball brigade that features the emerging Sarah Goodwin and debutant Kelly.

Vice Captain Eloise Jones will line up on the half-back flank - a switch from the forward lines - after being deployed in defence throughout the pre-season.

“It feels like the beginning of a new era for our team, which is something our fans should be incredibly excited about,” Brock said.

“Having new coach Ryan Davis at the helm, expect to see a new-look gamestyle, with players deployed in different positions and a bit more speed on the ball.

“The team has worked incredibly hard over the pre-season and we can’t wait to show what we have been working on this Sunday.”

New Crows Jemmika Douglass, Alice Tentye and Ava Stewart move from the extended bench to the emergency list.

The clash against Sydney will be the first of six home games played at Unley Oval, with Adelaide set to host all their matches at the one venue.

Brock encouraged all Crows Members and fans to get along to Unley Oval on Sunday and help create a strong home-ground atmosphere for the team’s season opener.

“The fact we get to play all six of our home matches at Unley Oval is a huge bonus for us,” Brock said.

“It will be the first season in a long time we’ve played in the one spot so it’s a real home ground feel for the players and  the experience for fans is great with the hill and atmosphere around the ground - it is just a great day out at the footy.

“We also have a great record at the venue, which gives us great confidence, so we can’t wait to get back there on Sunday and see the ground packed with Crows fans.”

Adelaide faces Sydney at Unley Oval on Sunday at 12.05pm.
