Adelaide key defender James Borlase has signed a three-year contract extension ensuring he remains a Crow until at least the end of 2029.

The 24-year-old has enjoyed his best season to date with the Club, playing 16 games after forcing himself into the team with strong SANFL form.

Borlase has recorded career-best averages in disposals, contested marks and one percenters, and has missed just one game since Round Eight against Port Adelaide.

“I couldn’t be happier to be signing on for another three years,” Borlase said.

“It was always my intention to stay a Crow, and after getting a run of games at AFL level, I knew this is where I wanted to be for the long term.

“I’ve been really proud of my growth this season and look forward to seeing what we as a team can accomplish, this year and in the seasons ahead.”

Crows General Manager List Management Jarryd Roughead said Borlase had worked hard all year to cement his place in the side.

“Full credit to Boz, he started the year in the SANFL and just put his head down and got to work,” Roughead said.

“His form and effort demanded selection for the AFL side and he’s continued to showcase that throughout 16 games at the elite level.

“We’re really pleased to have him committed to the Club for another three years and can’t wait to see what he can achieve.”

Egypt-born Borlase joined the Crows via the Next Generation Academy at the end of 2020 and has since played 32 games for the Club.
