Adelaide has made one change for its Round Two clash against Carlton at Ikon Park on Sunday afternoon.

As revealed on Friday, pre-season recruit Jemmika Douglas will make her AFLW debut against the Blues, just 25 days after being placed on the Crows’ list.

Adelaide Executive General Manager Women’s Football Bree Brock said Douglas deserved her opportunity at the top level.

“It’s great to see Jemmika get her opportunity this week. Since joining the Club just 25 days ago, she’s really impressed both the coaching staff and her teammates with her contest and defensive work, and has done everything we’ve asked of her,” Brock said.

“We’re very confident she will come in and play her role for the team in her AFLW debut.”

Douglas replaced running defender Kiera Mueller in the side, after she suffered significant damage to the patella tendon in her right in the first quarter of the Crows’ Round One clash against Sydney.

The 23-year-old required surgery on the injury, with a timeline for her return to be determined after the procedure.

“It’s disappointing to lose Kiera so early in the season. She had an excellent pre-season and we send all our love and support as she begins her recovery,” Brock said.

“We’re confident that our depth can cover Kiera’s loss and are excited to see what Jemmika can do this weekend.”

The Crows will be searching for their first win of the season when they face a Carlton side fresh off an impressive outing against St Kilda in Round One.

Brock said the group was excited to get on the road together and face the in-form Blues.

“Carlton presents a big test for our group, especially on their home deck, but it’s one we are excited to undertake,” Brock said.

“Despite not getting the result last week, there were a lot of positives to take out of the way we played against the Swans, and the challenge is to maintain our best football for longer periods.”

Adelaide take on Carlton this Sunday at IKON Park, with the match to begin at 2.50pm (ACST).

Fans can watch the game live on 7Mate, Fox Sports, Kayo, Binge and 7plus.
