Adelaide midfielder Madison Newman will miss the remainder of the 2026 AFLW season after rupturing the ACL in her left knee during Round 10’s game against Gold Coast.
The 25-year-old sustained the injury in the third quarter of Saturday’s 10-point win over the Suns, after hyperextending her knee during a groundball contest.
Crows Executive General Manager AFLW Bree Brock said the Club was incredibly disappointed for Newman, who had been putting together a standout season in Adelaide’s midfield.
“We’re understandably shattered for Maddi. She has put together a fantastic season in 2026 and performing fantastically for the team, and for that to now be cut short is such a blow and we are all feeling for her,” Brock said.
“But we know she will attack her recovery with the same energy, enthusiasm and good humour with which she does everything else.
“Maddi is expected to undergo surgery shortly and will begin her rehabilitation with the complete love and support of her teammates, medical staff and whole Club behind her.”
