At just 19 years old, Darcy Fogarty has a lot of football left in his career.

After an extended stint in the SANFL, the young forward returned to the senior side in Round 20 and booted five goals against reigning premiers West Coast last week.

But like any young player, Fogarty is leaning on the support of senior players - such as Taylor Walker - to perfect his craft.

Speaking to The Crows Show, brought to you by Optus, Fogarty revealed key areas his co-captain was helping him improve.

“Leading patterns on field, where to lead and how to lose defenders,” Fogarty said.

“Even body work when we’re doing competitive stuff, he’s helped me out a lot there.

“That’s one of his strengths and one of my weaknesses.”

Fogarty marked his return to AFL football with a huge goal from outside 50 to send the Crows 17 points up midway through the fourth quarter.

TEAM NEWS: Two changes for Collingwood

Adelaide Oval erupted and the Lucindale boy celebrated before later breathing a sigh of relief that the kick went through.

“I think Murphy (Lachlan Murphy) and Butch (David Mackay) were out the side,” Fogarty said.

“I didn’t have much of a look, (so) when I realised they were there it was lucky I kicked it.”

Walker, meanwhile, was full of praise for the Crows’ number 32.

“He’s a lead-up forward, can take a contested mark and is a beautiful kick - left or right,” Walker said.

“He’ll have to work on his endurance and his tank (this off-season).

“He’s got a huge future ahead of him.”

Also on The Crows Show this week, Jordan Gallucci talks about shaving his moustache to raise money for charity, a look at players in the running for Club Champion and a discussion surrounding the pros and cons of an AFL national reserves competition.

The Crows Show will air this Sunday at 11.30am on Channel 7 Adelaide.
