The attacking midfielder kicked 16 goals in his first six State League games, a run of form that earned him a place in the senior team.

Poholke played two matches of AFL in 2019 - North Melbourne in Round Four and St Kilda in Round Six.

The 21-year-old sustained a calf injury against Sturt in Round 11 but returned in Round 15 to face Glenelg.

He proved to be a damaging finals player with a near best-on-ground performance - two goals, 23 touches and 10 marks - in the semi-final win against Norwood.
