Adapting to adult life can be a tricky task for young AFL players.

And perhaps none endured a bigger gaffe than 20-year-old Andrew McPherson, who was thrown in the deep end when his parents went on holiday.

“It was just my brother and I at home, so we split the chores,” McPherson told The More You Crow podcast.

“I let the washing stack up probably more than I should have and tried to squeeze it into one load… thinking it would be fine.

“Came back an hour later and it was clunking non-stop.

“Had to fork out a bit of money for a new one.”

In this week’s bonus edition of The More You Crow, host Tom Doedee sat down with McPherson and young defender Jordon Butts.

The trio discussed the year in the SANFL, Kyle Hartigan leaving Butts stuck in the middle of the ocean and what they’re hoping to improve on ahead of next season.
