Crows senior assistant Scott Camporeale says Adelaide will consider a number of options at the selection table this week, despite the Crows SANFL side not playing on the weekend.

With Matt Crouch, Tom Lynch and David Mackay expected to be back in the mix, and experienced duo Bryce Gibbs and Josh Jenkins pushing for selection, Camporeale said the team would be decided based on who’s best to face Melbourne.

“We’ll look at if we need to change up the forward line mix to get Josh back in there? Do we need Bryce through the midfield or off half-back? They’ll be right up there, in terms of what we need,” Camporeale told reporters on Monday.

“We’ll still make those decisions based on Melbourne not on the individual.”

Although neither Jenkins or Gibbs played over the weekend, Camporeale said there were always opportunities for players to prove themselves at training.

“They can’t improve if they’re not playing so that’s pretty tough, but we do drills in training that rectify some of those things as well so we want to see change of behaviour in that,” he said.

“I would never question any of our guys’ attitudes, some of it’s learning and education about their craft and what the team needs.

“Hopefully they understand what we need that creates winning for us and can come back in and do the job for us.”

As for Saturday’s disappointing loss to West Coast, Camporeale said consistency has been an issue for the Crows in recent weeks and they paid the price against the reigning premiers.

“The first half was the level we want to keep playing at, but the last few weeks we just haven’t done it for long enough,” he said.

“We wrestled it back a bit in that second half, but West Coast went to another level.

“In the last quarter, we lost control around the contest and clearly we weren’t very efficient going forward.”
