Adelaide has traded pick No. 19 in the 2018 AFL Draft and their first round pick in the 2019 draft in exchange for Carlton’s first round pick in the 2019 draft.

The Crows also picked up Tasmanian midfielder Chayce Jones and tackling machine Ned McHenry on the first night of the draft.

Crows General Manager List Management and Strategy Justin Reid said the Club was ecstatic to have landed Jones and McHenry.

"We are absolutely thrilled to have landed two players we really wanted in Chayce and Ned and they are quality kids both on and off the field," he said.

"In regards to our third pick, Carlton came to us in the last 24-hours and flagged the idea."

He said the Club made the most of the opportunity live trading had presented.

"Some will say it potentially comes with risk but it also potentially comes with reward as is always the case," he said.

"We are also really confident of claiming another elite talent with pick 24 tomorrow."
