Key forwards Josh Jenkins and Taylor Walker were influential in Adelaide’s 36-point victory over Richmond on Thursday night.

Jenkins was influential from the outset, kicking the home team’s opening goal of the match and four in the first half. He finished with 5.2 from 16 disposals opposed to All-Australian full-back Alex Rance.

In his return from injury, Walker worked his way into the game and kicked two crucial second half majors as the Crows gained the ascendancy in the match.

Rory Laird was prolific as he provided run out of defence, collecting a game-high 42 possessions which included seven inside 50ms. Second gamer Tom Doedee was also excellent in the back half with 25 touches at 96 per cent efficiency. Daniel Talia and small defender Luke Brown were also resolute, taking crucial marks and making goal saving contests throughout the evening.

In the midfield, recruit Bryce Gibbs had 28 disposals, and a game-high 20 contested possessions. He also topped the clearance count with eight alongside inside midfielder Hugh Greenwood.

In a strong performance, Greenwood also had 19 contested possessions among his 26 disposals and kicked a neat goal.

In typical fashion, vice-captain Rory Sloane shrugged off a foot sprain to collect 25 disposals and two goals, both of which set the crowd alight with their high degrees of difficulty.

Midfielder Cam Ellis-Yolmen, playing his first game at Adelaide Oval since Round 20 2016, kicked a goal amongst his 28 touches and eight marks in a happy return to his home ground.

Polls open immediately after every Crows game. Users assign three votes to the player they deem Adelaide’s best contributor, two to the second-best and one vote for their third most valuable Crow in each match.

Polling closes on Tuesday at 4.30pm (SA time) after each round when the final votes are collated using a points system.

A maximum of 100 points per game can be awarded to the entire team. Each player is given a percentage of the total votes received to go towards their season tally (For example, if 1,200 votes were placed in Round One and Taylor Walker receives 600 then that is the equivalent of 50 per cent of all votes for that round and he would receive 50 points towards his season tally. If the second best player received 120 votes from 1,200 then that is the equivalent of 10 per cent and he will get 10 votes towards the season tally).

This process is repeated each round and players accumulate points towards their season tally. The player at the top of the leaderboard at the end of the season is crowned the Crows Fans’ MVP.
