Adelaide has never held pick No. 37 at the National Draft, a selection which has previously netted a top small defender and leading ruckman.

Two-time All Australian Leigh Montagna, North Melbourne ruckman Todd Goldstein and Eagles premiership player Mark LeCras are the cream of the crop.

Montagna played 287 games for St Kilda after he was drafted in 2001 and the 174cm defender was named All Australian in 2009 and 2010.

He played in the 2010 Grand Final draw and replay for the Saints.

Drafted in 2004, LeCras booted 441 goals in 219 games for West Coast and was a member of the Eagles’ 2018 premiership team.

A 2010 All Australian, LeCras is third on West Coast’s all-time goal-kicking list, behind Josh J. Kennedy and Peter Sumich.

Goldstein, a 31-year-old 201cm ruckman for North Melbourne, signed a three-year contract extension in 2019.

The 2015 North Melbourne best and fairest has played 234 games for the Kangaroos and is second all-time in the AFL for hit-outs, behind Fremantle’s Aaron Sandilands

Other notable pick No. 37s include Port Adelaide premiership player Adam Kingsley (1996), Scott D. Thompson (2007) and Brent Staker (2002).

Ten former picks are currently active ahead of the 2020 season, including Jamie Macmillan (2009) and Jack Newnes (2011).
