Adelaide’s incoming Leadership Development Manager, Daniel Jackson, is set to take on an important match day role in 2020.

Speaking to AFC Media, senior coach Matthew Nicks said the former Richmond Best and Fairest winner would become a key voice on the Crows’ interchange bench during player rotations.

“Our conversations have been around Dan being on the bench,” Nicks said.

“He talks about back when he played, one of his strengths was being able to communicate.

To have that level, experienced head on our bench to work with players in that space… not so much the execution of skills, but more around the mindset, that positivity and calmness.

“I think he’ll be a huge asset for us down there.”

WELCOME DAN: Jackson appointed to leadership position

Jackson will join the Club early next month and has already had a positive ongoing dialogue with Adelaide’s senior coach.

“He’s obviously overseas at the moment, but my conversations with him... he’s a really good person and understands what team is about,” Nicks said.

“He’ll be there to help us with that side of things, working on some of that leadership which ultimately assists me as a coach to shape that culture.”
