Adelaide Crows coach Matthew Nicks has had a slight change of heart about former Australian cricketer Greg Blewett.

On Saturday, Blewett gave his best Matthew Nicks’ impression… and just a short while later on Monday, it was played on air for the Crows coach.

Nicks joked to Triple M’s The Rush Hour with Bernie and Jars that he could no longer call himself a Blewett fan.

“I was a huge Greg Blewett fan… up until I heard that,” Nicks said while laughing.

“(My voice) is a bit deep and husky, I had my nose broken a number of times throughout my career.

“He’s got a point (as well), my wife always gets into me about it… ‘can you stop whinging and talking like that’.”

Listen in to Blewett’s impression at the 5.37 mark.

Jokes aside, Nicks said he was focused on a return to football, whenever that may be.

“There is still a lot of uncertainty with where society is at, let alone sport,” he said.

“The danger is we’ve seen other countries coming back too early and that puts some people at risk.

“We want to play footy, and we will do that anyway we can.

“If the players aren’t at risk, we need to do that (play again).”

Regarding playing more than one game a week, Nicks said teams would be willing to adapt.

“(As long as) we’ll have a premiership table by the end of it.”
