Adelaide forward Taylor Walker has revealed his favourite part about the birthday message from Home and Away star Ray Meagher.

On Saturday, Walker turned 30 and received a video from the actor who plays Alf Stewart, courtesy of 7NEWS Adelaide.

Speaking to Triple M’s Roo & Ditts, Walker said he really enjoyed the slight dig at Mark Ricciuto.

“Do you know what the best thing was about the video, Roo? Don’t call your son Mark,” Walker joked.

In the build up to the video, Walker said he was enjoying a nap after getting up at 5.30am for Anzac Day.

“Ellie said can you please get in the shower, takes my phone away from me… I said ‘what the hell is going on here,” Walker said.

“Then I got the video of the flaming mongrel, how good was that!”

With an AFL return date expected to be announced in the coming weeks, Walker said there were still logistical questions to face for players with families.

“We need to go where the game is played and cross the bridge of how it suits families when we get to it,” he said.

“It will certainly be hard… at least Ellie has her family here (in Adelaide).

“But families like the Sloanes and the Hartigans don’t have anyone.”
