Adelaide will develop two new ‘away’ guernseys for the 2016 season.

The AFL has given preliminary approval for the Crows to wear a white-based guernsey - featuring three red, yellow and blue stripes as they appear on the traditional home guernsey – as the main ‘clash’ strip from next year.

A yellow version of the same style will be used as the ‘alternate’ guernsey and possibly for NAB Challenge games next season.

The two concepts had strong support in an online survey completed by nearly 8000 members and supporters.

The white version (Design D) was clearly the most popular overall and the yellow guernsey (Design A) received the most “love it” votes.

Adelaide CEO Andrew Fagan said the poll highlighted the range of opinions among supporters.

“Clash jumper design always brings with it strong and often divided opinion which is why we were keen to obtain feedback from our supporter base to help arrive at a decision,” he said.

“It was clear that members and fans wanted something authentic that respected the tri-colour hoops of our original guernsey. This supports much of the commentary and feedback we have received from members previously.

“The results pointed to Design D as the top pick and then the number of fans who said they loved the yellow option led us to explore with the AFL the possibility of having two ‘away’ guernseys.

“As always we will seek to see to wear our ‘home’ guernsey at every opportunity but we think these ‘clash’ versions will be well received next season. We will clearly be the Crows.”

There was no difference in the overall survey results compared to filtered results for members.

The Club will now work with apparel partner BLK to develop the concepts for final AFL approval.
