Stats that matter
Adelaide played Fremantle three times last year for three wins. The Crows were the only team to beat the fast-finishing Freo from Round 15 onwards in 2012.

Fremantle is the best defensive team in the AFL. They have conceded the fewest goals (96) and the fewest inside 50ms. The Dockers are ranked second in forcing the opposition into ‘clanger’ kicks and third in tackles, averaging almost 79 per game.

The Dockers are the best team at retaining the ball in attack, ranked No.1 for time in forward half. However, they are only ranked 11 for goals scored (122).

Richard Douglas is No.1 in the League for goal assists (14). Douglas (50) is also equal-second in the League for inside 50ms. He generated 10 of those forward 50m entries against North Melbourne on Sunday.

Fremantle is the best uncontested marking team in the AFL. Defender Luke McPharlin leads the way in this statistic, ranked fourth in the comp.

Round Nine nominee Sam Kerridge is the third Crow to receive a Rising Star nomination in the past 12 months. Eventual winner Daniel Talia (Round 12) and fellow defender Sam Shaw (Round 21) both earned nods last season.

The Crows are the most efficient team in scoring goals once inside attacking 50m. Adelaide averages a goal after 3.2 disposals inside 50m.

David Mundy (eighth) and Michael Barlow (16th) are both top-20 in the competition for clearances. The Crows also have two players in the top 20: Patrick Dangerfield (14th) and Scott Thompson (18th).

Crow Matthew Wright averaged 25 possessions and two goals in three games against Freo in 2012.

Injured Docker Michael Walters leads the club's goalkicking this season (19). Chris Mayne is second on 17 goals.

News Bites
Dockers recall speedster

Fremantle livewire Stephen Hill will make his return from a quad injury against Adelaide at AAMI Stadium on Saturday. Hill replaces young onballer Cam Sutcliffe in the only change to the Freo team that dismantled Melbourne at Patersons Stadium last weekend.

Danger in the midfield: Lyon
FREMANTLE'S clash with the Crows on Saturday afternoon at AAMI Stadium will be won or lost in the midfield according to Ross Lyon. The Dockers coach believes the sides are very evenly matched and the team that wins the battle in the centre of the ground will walk away with the four points.

We want payback: Mundy – AFL.com.au
FREMANTLE midfielder David Mundy believes his side owes Adelaide some payback after the Crows knocked the Dockers out of last year's finals series. Fremantle was winless in all three encounters against Adelaide last season, and the Dockers are keen to exact some revenge on Saturday afternoon at AAMI Stadium."We really owe Adelaide a little bit; they’ve had the wood over us recently," Mundy said on Tuesday.

Dockers to play it safe with Pavlich – AFL.com.au
FREMANTLE coach Ross Lyon is unlikely to risk captain Matthew Pavlich next week against Adelaide, despite the six-time All Australian's belief he will be right to return from his six-week lay-off following Achilles surgery. Lyon immediately turned his attention to the looming clash with the Crows next Saturday after his side demolished the Demons by 90 points at Patersons Stadium. Injured midfielder Stephen Hill (quad) is a chance to return for the clash.

Defender cleared for Crows clash
Alex Silvagni is clear to play against Adelaide this Saturday after the match day report against him for engaging in rough conduct against Melbourne’s Nathan Jones was thrown out by the AFL’s Match Review Panel.
