Young defender Andrew McPherson will return to Adelaide’s said to face Greater Western Sydney on Tuesday evening.

The 21-year-old has not played since Round 12 after reporting hamstring discomfort against the Western Bulldogs in the second quarter.

McPherson will replace Myles Poholke as the only change to Matthew Nicks’ winning side.

“McPherson will come back in, that will be the one change we’re looking at,” Nicks told the media on Monday.

“We’re going to go in as close as we can to unchanged.

“We felt McPherson was rock solid before he went out (injured)... he’s going to bolster that backline for us, which allows us to move a couple of other pieces around.”

Small forward Lachlan Murphy has been named, despite a shoulder knock against Hawthorn last Tuesday.

“He got through the fitness test really well,” Nicks said.

“That was just to make sure we didn’t go one down early in a game.

“He was confident he could get through and felt pretty good. That comes back to keeping the side that had a win, you like to reward the players that got it done.”

First bounce is at 5.10pm and will be televised live nationwide on Fox Footy and on 7mate in Adelaide.
