Adelaide’s AFLW team is returning to The Parade in 2021, with five home games set to be played at Norwood Oval.

On Friday, the AFL announced the 2021 AFLW fixture featuring the inaugural Pride Round which the Crows will celebrate in their first home game of the season in Round Two against Gold Coast.

There will also be an AFLW Indigenous Round for the first time, against Fremantle in Round Five at home.

The Crows will begin their season on the road, playing Melbourne in Casey Fields on Saturday, January 30.

That will be the first of three trips to Victoria, with Adelaide set to play Collingwood at Victoria Park in Round Four and Richmond at Swinburne Centre in Round Eight.

Adelaide’s only other interstate trip will be to Queensland, against Brisbane in Round Six.

Western Bulldogs (Round Three) and Carlton (Round Seven) will be travelling to Adelaide to take on the Crows at Norwood.

The final minor round game will be a Friday twilight match at home against GWS Giants.

Crows Head of Women’s Football Phil Harper said the Club was thrilled the AFL Commission has agreed to back the competition to the full extent.

“To have nine rounds and three weeks of finals planned is a terrific result and shows the AFL has great faith in the girls and the product they put out there,” Harper said.

“Having five home games at a refurbished venue like Norwood will be great for our members and supporters with plenty of undercover seating during the summer.”

Harper said Adelaide was supportive of the changes to the competition, with all games being ticketed for the first time and the season starting earlier.

“It’s a positive move having ticketing and it is great recognition for the popularity of the competition,” he said.

“We’re glad to see that under-18s can still get in for free and hopefully we will continue to have a lot of young Crows supporters and especially younger girls at our home games to watch their idols.

“We also understand the reasoning for starting the season early in case it needs to be restructured due to COVID, so now there is time and space for that to happen.”

All of Adelaide’s games will be broadcast on free-to-air television in South Australia with six of the nine games broadcast on free-to-air nationally.
