Rookie recruit Ben Keays made the most of his one-year contract with the Crows in 2020.

Following a Club debut in Round Two, Keays played every game for the remainder of the season and earned himself a two-year contract as a senior player.

Despite the significant development in his own career, it still ranked second on his best moments of 2020 list.

“That first win, against Hawthorn, that was probably the best,” Keays told AFC Media.

“Making my debut was great as well, but we got smoked.

“To get that first win alongside my teammates, to sing the song for the first time, was incredibly special.”

Once the season wrapped up, Keays jetted back to Queensland and even took part in the Grand Final sprint.

Outside of football, the 23-year-old had a particularly satisfying moment watching good friend Jesse Daley run out for the Brisbane Roar.

“He’d just signed after playing in America,” Keays said.

“We all got to watch him play in a few trial games, playing in the midfield… it’s so great for him.”

Keays returned to training early on December 7, alongside the 1-4 year Crows.
