Adelaide forward Darcy Fogarty is managing a back issue following a marking contest on Monday.

The 21-year-old will have his training loads managed until mid-to-late next week.

Adelaide Head of Performance Matt Hass said Fogarty would need to be managed as he transitions back into full training.

“It’s settling really quickly, but we need to manage him through what’s been a really competitive pre-season,” Hass said.

Lachlan Sholl suffered a hand injury in the gym and will also be managed for the short-term during contact and football sessions.

“Sholly’s hand was swollen this morning and limited his ability to control the ball,” Hass said.

“Given it was a heavy football session, there was little he could participate in.

Sholl will undergo scans later this week.

Meanwhile, veteran defender Daniel Talia continues to make progress following arthroscopic surgery on his knee in the offseason.
