Crows defender Nikki Gore has had successful surgery to repair her left ankle that was broken during Adelaide’s win over Gold Coast on Saturday.

Gore will now miss the rest of the 2021 season.

Crows Head of Women’s Football Phil Harper said the Club would support Gore after this disappointing news.

“Scans post-match revealed the break and it was decided that surgery was the best course of action to get Nikki back on her feet,” Harper said.

“Unfortunately, that means we won’t see her out there again this year, which is really disappointing because Nikki has had a terrific year playing down back for the first time.

“The Club will rally around Nikki and she will still be a massive part of our team in the lead up to finals.”

Midfielder Hannah Button dislocated her left shoulder during the 70-point win, however it went back in cleanly and she pulled up well from the game.

She will be a test for this week’s Round Seven game against Melbourne at Casey Fields.
