Eddie Betts has won back-to-back AFL Goal of the Year titles.

Betts claimed his second straight Goal of the Year honour for his incredible snap against Greater Western Sydney in Round 10.

The livewire Crow lunged at a loose ball on the boundary line late in the third quarter of the clash with the Giants. Betts trapped the Sherrin, exploded past two opponents and snapped a miracle major on his right boot.

Betts booted five goals in Adelaide’s win over the Giants, which included a second Goal of the Year nomination in the dying stages of the match.

Incredibly, he was nominated a total of four times this season.

Betts was unveiled as this year’s winner at Monday night’s Brownlow Medal count at Crown Palladium in Melbourne, edging out Sydney’s Lance Franklin and North Melbourne’s Shaun Atley for the major prize. The three finalists were put to a public vote after the end of the home and away season.

Betts won last year’s Goal of the Year title for his amazing torpedo against Fremantle from the same pocket as his most recent winner. He was also a finalist in 2014 after slotting a miraculous checkside against North Melbourne.

It’s Betts’ third Goal of the Year crown. He kicked his first Goal of the Year winner a decade ago in 2006, again from the boundary line, while playing for Carlton.

The award caps off a stellar season for the popular Crow.

Betts kicked 75 goals to win Adelaide’s leading goalkicker award for the third year in succession and was also presented with the Phil Walsh Best Team Man award at Adelaide’s Club Champion presentation. His career-best year saw Betts finish runner-up to Rory Sloane in the Club’s best and fairest count and also earn a second All Australian blazer.
