Crow David Mackay will front the AFL Tribunal via video link on Thursday night following an incident in the win over St Kilda in Cairns.

Mackay, a 239-game veteran, was involved in a collision with Hunter Clark in the second quarter of Saturday night’s game.

After being assessed by the Match Review Officer, the matter was sent direct to the tribunal for a ruling and Crows Head of Football Adam Kelly said the Club would be defending Mackay given he was only contesting the ball.

“It’s a very unfortunate situation and no one likes to see any player get injured and we would like to wish Hunter a speedy recovery,” Kelly said.

“David has a well earned reputation for being a fair, ball player, across a long career and we will contend that is the case here, and he was contesting the ball.”

The Club will be making no further comment prior to Thursday night’s hearing.
