Despite missing a third of the TAC Cup season with Dandenong Stingrays, the Sorrento product was a co-winner of the team’s best and fairest in 2016. After impressing with Vic Country, he was selected by Adelaide at No. 44 alongside good mate Jordan Gallucci. In his first SANFL season, Poholke played 17 games, finishing in the top 10 for the Adelaide State League Club Champion count. His unofficial AFL debut was in the JLT Community Series before he cracked the senior squad in Round Five, 2018, against Sydney. The midfielder finished with nine appearances in his first AFL season and then two senior games in 2019. He turned in some dominant performances at SANFL level as a goalkicking midfielder. He finished fifth in the State League Club Champion award despite missing six games. Kicked 16 goals in his first six SANFL appearances.
