Adelaide co-captain Taylor Walker has thrown his full support behind Don Pyke amidst media speculation the coach has lost the playing group.

Walker outright denied the claims and said Pyke had “100 per cent support” from his players and staff.

“Pykey is one of these coaches who isn’t in it for the money or the fame,” Walker told Triple M’s Roo & Ditts.

“He wants the best for you as a person off field and the best for you as a footballer.

“100 per cent he does (have the support of the playing group).”

The Crows suffered their ninth loss of the season on Saturday but still retain a place in the top eight.

Walker conceded the side was not playing its best football.

“We got beaten heavily in contested ball (against Carlton),” he said.

“We don’t fall into 8th on the ladder by luck, we’ve played some really good footy this year.

“It’s just at this point in time, we’re being challenged as a group.”

Regarding Sunday’s much publicised meet-up at Pyke’s, the 29-year-old dismissed any suggestions it was a crisis meeting.

Adelaide will face St Kilda this Saturday night at Adelaide Oval.
