Veteran Crows midfielder Chris Hall has played a major role in ‘gelling’ Adelaide’s SANFL side, coach Mick Godden believes.

Adelaide finished second on the ladder in 2022 - the Club’s highest finish in the SANFL - and spent 17 consecutive weeks in the top three.

With a qualifying final against Norwood locked in for Sunday, Godden said the team’s development players have been vital in the Crows’ success.

“It’s been great to have guys like him (Chris Hall), Louis Sharrad, Jacob Templeton, Isaya McKenzie,” Godden said on Tuesday.

“For Chris to play his 200th on the weekend was fantastic for him.

“The way he’s played throughout the year, he’s gelled our group together - especially that development group.

“He’s shown them the way to play League footy.”

Alongside the development squad, Adelaide will have 15 AFL-listed players at their disposal throughout finals.

For Godden, it’s a chance to see how the Crows’ younger players handle the intensity.

“My personal goal (at the start of the year) was to get them to a spot to play two finals,” he said.

“That’s what I think will be great for their development, to see how they handle it.

“We put ourselves in that position now and anything from here is a bonus.

“We’ve got a lot of young players playing their first year of League footy and their first finals, so we’ll see how they go.”

Adelaide will face the Redlegs at Adelaide Oval on Sunday at 3.15pm.
