Richmond ruckman Ivan Maric is set to play his first game of the season against his former club on Saturday.

Maric, who played 77 games over six seasons with Adelaide, has overcome a back injury which kept him on the sidelines through the opening two rounds of the premiership season.

The Tigers could also be bolstered by the return of hard-running half-forward Shane Edwards this week. Edwards has recovered from minor hand surgery after sustaining the injury in club’s Round One win over Carlton.

Richmond has already ruled out midfielder Brett Deledio (quad) and Dylan Grimes (hamstring) for Saturday’s clash with the Crows, but the Tigers have options ready to bolster their backline.

Enemy: Tigers escape suspension

Experienced defenders Troy Chaplin and Jake Batchelor are both waiting in the wings. Former Power backman Chaplin has been an emergency in the first two rounds and could get his chance, as has hard-bodied on-baller Andrew Moore, who would be an in-form option if Damien Hardwick swings the axe in the midfield.
