Adelaide has wished ruck Montana McKinnon all the best for the future after finalising a trade with Richmond.

McKinnon joins the Tigers in exchange for Picks 22, 26 and 33, which Adelaide received as part of an 11-club trade.

The 22-year-old played 31 games for the Crows since being drafted with Pick No.14 in the 2019 National Draft.

Adelaide Head of Women’s Football Phil Harper said it was disappointing to see McKinnon depart but the Club respected her decision to seek further opportunity with Richmond.

“Montana is a quality person who has been a popular and respected member of our squad,” Harper said.

“We have had open and honest conversations with her for a long time now and understand her desire to be a number one ruck.

“We wish Montana and her family well with the next phase of her football career.

“We are comfortable with the deal we have been able to come to and feel that three picks inside the top 33 will enable us to land the players we are after in the draft.”

As part of the 11-club trade, the Crows gave up Picks No.18, 37 and 40.

In another change to Adelaide’s list, midfielder Hannah Button has been delisted, with the Club to consider re-selecting her in the AFLW Draft on Monday.
