Kuwarna midfielder Harry Schoenberg headlines a list of four inclusions for the Club ahead of its clash with Waalitj Marawar (West Coast) at Adelaide Oval on Sunday afternoon.

The match will mark Schoenberg’s long-awaited return to AFL after rupturing his Achilles tendon in Round 24 last year.

Kuwarna Senior Coach Matthew Nicks said on Thursday Schoenberg was ready to play after a solid bout of form in the SANFL.

“Schoenberg has come back from injury with his Achilles, has played a couple (SANFL games) now and he’s playing at a level worthy of AFL,” Nicks said.

Fellow on-baller Sam Berry, forward Chris Burgess and defender James Borlase have also been named in the final team, which the Club announced on Friday afternoon.

Matt Crouch, Ben Keays, Berry, Luke Nankervis and Brayden Cook have been included on the interchange bench.

As announced earlier in the week, forward/midfielder Izak Rankine will be on the sidelines and is expected to miss about three weeks after injuring his hamstring during last week’s game against Collingwood.

Fellow forward Elliott Himmelberg is also out, due to a cheekbone injury.

Defender Will Hamill and midfielder Ned McHenry, who was the Club’s substitute last weekend, have been omitted.

The pair have been named as the emergencies for this weekend’s game, alongside ruckman Kieran Strachan.

The match between Kuwarna and Waalitj Marawar gets underway at Adelaide Oval on Sunday at 4.10pm (ACST).

It will mark the second week of Sir Doug Nicholls Round, with the Club wearing its Indigenous guernsey, designed by forward Izak Rankine and his cousin Harley Hall.
