Adelaide forward Tyler Welsh is set to miss the next three-to-five weeks after suffering a fractured toe in the SANFL clash against Sturt on Saturday.

The injury occured in a contest during the early stages of the match, and the 18-year-old was set to consult a surgeon to determine the next steps.

“Tyler Welsh injured his toe and has a fracture after a contest early in the SANFL game on the weekend,” Adelaide High Performance Manager Darren Burgess said.

“We are not sure yet whether he’ll need that operated on, he’s seeing the surgeon tomorrow, but regardless he’s looking at a period of three-to-five weeks away from playing.”

Midfielder Matt Crouch is progressing well from a hip injury, and will likely return to training with the main group in the next two-to-three weeks.

“Matt Crouch has been running this week on the AlterG and he’ll start to do some on-track running later this week,” Burgess said.

“He’s feeling really good, and all going well he’ll be back training with the group within two-to-three weeks.”

Key defender Nick Murray is edging closer to a return, and will be integrated back into training within the next week or so.

“Nick Murray is going really well, he’s been doing plenty of running and we’re hoping that he’ll be involved in main training in the next week or so and then pushing for selection,” Burgess said.

Murray’s younger brother Toby continues his rehabilitation process from a fractured ankle, and will eye a return to running within the next two weeks.

“Toby Murray is progressing well, he’ll probably be on legs doing some running within two weeks and we’ll progress him on from there,” Burgess said.

Taylor Walker has pulled up fresh after being managed last week, and will be available for the Crows’ Round 12 clash against Sydney at the SCG.

“As you might imagine Taylor is fairly enthusiastic coming into training this week,” Burgess said.

“He’s feeling fresh and ready to go, so he’ll be good to go this week.”
