Adelaide has made two changes ahead of its clash against Gold Coast at Adelaide Oval on Sunday.

The Crows have named defender Nick Murray and forward Luke Pedlar in the final 23-man team.

Murray will feature in his first AFL game since Round Seven, following knee surgery.

Adelaide Head of Football Adam Kelly said Murray had played well across the past four games in the SANFL and worked hard to get his body right.

“Nick is a proven player at AFL level who has earned a recall this week,” Kelly said.

“After undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery in late April, Nick returned at SANFL level in mid June and has now played four games since his return.

“As we have become accustomed to, Nick leaves nothing to chance and it’s a credit to him that he approaches his rehabilitation and preparation with such diligence.”

Pedlar, meanwhile, will make his return to the AFL side for the first time since Round 14.

The 23-year-old injured his quad in the Crows’ AFL match against Hawthorn and returned through the SANFL, having lined up in the past two games.

“Luke was in our AFL line up heading to the bye but sustained a quad injury,” Kelly said.

“His performances at SANFL level in the last two weeks have been a standout.

“We have been pleased with the balance he has struck in his game, maintaining his ferocity at the contest, and showing composure with ball in hand.”

Chris Burgess, Luke Nankervis and Hugh Bond move from the extended squad to the emergency list.

Backman Jordon Butts and forward Brayden Cook will miss this weekend’s match as they recover from a punctured lung and concussion, respectively.

Adelaide will name its substitute one hour before the first bounce.

The Crows will enter this weekend’s match in third spot on the ladder, following an 11-point win against the Western Bulldogs at Marvel Stadium.

Adelaide faces Gold Coast at Adelaide Oval on Sunday at 4.10pm.

The match will mark the Club’s inaugural drought support game, with the Club set to recognise SA farming families who are enduring extreme drought conditions.

Adelaide will also celebrate our Junior Crows at the game, and thanks to the AFL, kids under 14 can enter the ground for free.
