Adelaide has announced a 29-man squad for its AFL match simulation against Port Adelaide at Alberton Oval on Friday evening.

As announced on Thursday afternoon, livewire Izak Rankine will not take part in the match after suffering a low-grade hamstring strain at training on Wednesday.

Along with Rankine, the Crows will be without Isaac Cumming (hamstring), Mitch Hinge (back soreness) and Callum Ah Chee (hamstring) for the pre-season Showdown, as they recover from their respective injuries.

Second-year midfielder Sid Draper will also sit out the match, but is expected to be available for next week’s clash against Fremantle.

Adelaide’s non selected AFL-listed and SANFL players will also feature at Alberton in a three-period contest prior to the AFL match simulation.

Tyler Welsh, Oscar Ryan, Indy Cotton, Archie Ludowyke, Finnbar Maley and Lachlan Sholl are the AFL-listed players set to feature in the curtain raiser.

Train-on players Zac Foot, Tom Bell and Blake Drury have also been included in the squad, along with newly-named SANFL captain Kieran Strachan

Players named in the 29-man AFL squad could also feature in the SANFL side, which will begin at 3pm.
