Long before draft night, new Crow Liv Gorman was a youngster on the sidelines watching her big brother kick around the footy, dreaming of joining in.

Her brother’s passion for footy ignited a love for the game in her and it was a dream that she was determined to chase.

While her Mum was initially hesitant to let her play footy, a hard-earned ‘yes’ - and plenty of dedication since - led Gorman to being selected by the Crows with Pick No.25 at the 2025 Telstra AFLW Draft.

Gorman, an on-baller/defender from the Northern Knights, Victoria, arrived at the Crows’ West Lakes headquarters this month ahead of the side’s start to pre-pre season training.

Speaking to AFC Media, the 18-year-old said she was thrilled to now be part of the Crows’ nest after years of working towards her dream of being drafted.

“My (older) brother Coby, who is two years older than me, played football, and I always wanted to play, but my Mum didn’t let me at first,” Gorman said.

“After begging her, she let me and I was really happy when she did because that’s what I wanted to do.

“It was a bit of shock when the Crows called out my name, but I had so many happy tears to know that all the hard work is paying off, as are all the sacrifices I’ve had to make throughout last year and all my years of footy.

“I love it here, it just feels like home. It’s a very family and community orientated Club, which I love and Adelaide as a city is nice as well.”

A consistent ball-winner, Gorman caught Adelaide’s recruiters’ eyes after averaging 25 disposals, 3.6 marks, 4.7 tackles and 5.9 clearances, playing for the Northern Knights in the Talent League last season.

She said her strengths were in her stoppage craft and decision-making, and was keen to learn from three-time premiership player and Crows Co-Captain Ebony Marinoff.

“I think I am pretty clean with the ball and composed. My kicking efficiency to get the ball outside and make the game a bit faster is also one of my strengths,” Gorman said.

“I am looking forward to lining up alongside Noffy, I have followed her career and to be playing on the same team as her is pretty cool, it’s a dream come true.

“The biggest thing that I want to get out of this year is growth, not just as a player, but as a person as well.

“It’s great that we are getting stuck into it now and we are all willing to work hard.”
