A historic Good Friday crowd, a 100‑game milestone and some eye‑catching performances highlighted Adelaide’s clash with Fremantle. Here are the key numbers and historical notes from Round Four.

Record Good Friday crowd in Adelaide

Adelaide’s Members and fans backed the club’s first Good Friday game, setting a record crowd of 48,627 for games against Fremantle in South Australia. The previous high of 46,431 was at Adelaide Oval in 2016 and the highest at AAMI Stadium (Football Park) was 44,058 in 2002.

Jones reaches 100 games after late recall

It wasn’t the ideal way to celebrate a 100 AFL game milestone but Chayce Jones made it after being a late inclusion in the side. Jones had played the previous two games to reach 99 but was not picked in Adelaide’s 23 on Thursday. Then Isaac Cumming was ruled out through illness and Jones was recalled. The Tasmanian made his AFL debut in 2019 and is the 64th Crow to play 100 games for the Club.

 McAndrew joins elite tackling company

Adelaide’s list of players with the most tackles in a game is dominated by midfielders, with Rory Laird way out on top with 20 in 2022. But 210cm ruck Lachlan McAndrew joined the group, with 13 tackles against Fremantle, to sit alongside Crows including Matt Crouch, Hugh Greenwood, Sam Berry and Nathan van Berlo.

Key performers shine across the ground

Riley Thilthorpe attended only four centre restarts as a midfielder but recorded a team-high three centre clearances.  He also posted a team-high eight score involvements. Adelaide had better numbers at stoppages around the ground, with James Peatling finishing with eight clearances and Josh Rachele five. And in defence, Josh Worrell had a game-high 11 intercepts including five intercept marks.

 Dockers close the all‑time gap

Fremantle continues to close the gap on the Crows for their overall head-to-head scoreboard with a sixth win from the past seven clashes. The Crows have now played Fremantle 46 times since 1995, winning 24 of those matches. Adelaide’s only success since 2019 was a 39-point win at Adelaide Oval on Easter Saturday, 2023.
