The post AFLW Grand Final celebrations have come to an end, and reality has hit with my fellow premiership players and I returning to our fulltime jobs and normal everyday lives.

However, some players were recently offered the opportunity to reignite memories back at Adelaide Oval, with our most prized possession – the Premiership Cup.

RoofClimb organised an express visit to the top of the stands, so some of us could hold the cup high in the sky and to re-live some of our fondest memories of the game from a bird’s eye view.

I tell you what though, I am thankful that we didn’t have the same weather on Grand Final day as the RoofClimb.

As we suited up for the Climb and got our harnesses intact, we walked around the oval and behind a secret door, we began to climb up a narrow ladder.

As soon as Scott, our RoofClimb leader, opened the hatch, we were greeted with torrential rain.

We were all connected to the railings as we commenced our climb across the roof towards the Riverbank Stand.

Jenna McCormick was taking it very cautiously, holding everyone up as she took baby steps as the rain pelted in sideways.

We got to the Riverbank Stand roof and overlooked the pristine oval.

The rain vanished and the sun began to shine through, as if on cue to greet us back to the oval where it all began.

While standing over the oval, my teammates and I reminisced on the final day of March.

“Guys, this place was jam packed with people last time we were all here,” Eloise Jones stated as she stood tall looking over the empty chairs in the stadium.

“That’s where Chloe (Scheer) took her hanger,” pointed Marijana Rajcic.

“How good is this,” exclaimed Hannah Martin.

We all jumped together for some group and individual photos with the Cup, Deni Varnhagen, Ailish Considine and Anne Hatchard ensuring they had a few good ones to choose for their social media accounts.

It was an awesome opportunity to reflect on the Grand Final together and take in the views of our great city.

Massive thanks to RoofClimb Adelaide Oval for the incredible experience and opportunity to reflect on our historic day.
