Bryce Gibbs has played five games for the SANFL Crows this season, giving him the opportunity to see first-hand what the Club’s young talent has to offer.

Since his first SANFL appearance in the side’s Round Three clash with Woodville-West Torrens, Gibbs has played with every one of Adelaide’s 2019 recruits.

The veteran was quick to praise the Club’s first pick in the 2018 draft - Chayce Jones.

“Playing through the midfield with Chayce, he’s someone that has really caught my eye and someone I think is going to play a lot of games for this footy club,” Gibbs said.

“Even a couple of the guys playing half-back, like Lachie Sholl and Will Hamill these guys have shown really good signs in their first year at an AFL club.

“They will continue to get better and better, so I am looking forward to their development.“

Despite having a “challenging year”, Gibbs is making the most of the opportunity to spend time with the younger players and help them improve.

“I’m getting to know them better as people but also helping them work on their game and the areas they are trying to improve on as well,” he said.

“They’re obviously finding their way and trying to work out what they need to do to play AFL footy, and I’ve enjoyed working with them and trying to fast track them as much as I can.

“What makes it easier is that they are all great kids and they are all willing to learn and listen and they have a bit of fun along the way as well.”

After playing over 30 games for Glenelg as a teenager prior to being drafted, the SANFL Crows will return to Gibbs’ former home ground on Saturday when they take on the Tigers in a top of the table clash.
