Adelaide has won its past eight encounters with West Coast, stretching back to round 12 of the 2022 season. Four of these wins have been at Perth’s Optus Stadium. The overall record between the clubs is now 29-30.
McAndrew sets the tone in the ruck
Ruck Lachlan McAndrew was pivotal to Adelaide’s fast start, with nine hit-outs in the opening term when he also had three centre clearances and six contested possessions. He finished with 38 hit-outs, 12 disposals, seven tackles, five clearances and five score involvements. Adelaide scored five goals from centre ball-ups, winning the centre clearances 18-8 (after 7-1 in the first quarter).
Fogarty fires as Dawson leads from the front
Darcy Fogarty appreciated the early centre square dominance. After starring in the Showdown with 5.1 on the scoreboard, he kicked three goals in the opening term against the Eagles and then a fourth early in the second. Crows captain Jordan Dawson was again central to the win. He had 27 disposals with eight tackles, seven marks, six clearances, nine inside 50s, one goal and a game-high 764 metres gained. Josh Rachele had a game-high eight score involvements and Jake Soligo booted the first goal of the night after only 19 seconds - on the run from just inside the 50 metres arc - in his 99th AFL game.
Walker draws level with Ricciuto on games list
Taylor Walker climbed another rung on the Crows’ all-time AFL games list, joining Mark Ricciuto on 312 in equal third place after going past Ben Hart on 311. The top two Crows are Tyson Edwards (321 games) and Andrew McLeod (340).
Hall-Kahan shines with tireless running display
Hugo Hall-Kahan covered a team-high 14.4km in his fifth AFL game since he was secured by the Crows in the mid-season draft. The half-back finished with 18 disposals, headlined by a three-bounce run through the centre square, leading to a mark and goal to Dawson.
