Coaches’ Votes R17: Skipper stars with best-on-ground honours

Crows Captain Jordan Dawson was awarded a perfect 10 AFLCA coaches’ votes for his stellar performance against West Coast at Optus Stadium on Friday night

Dawson led from the front, finishing with 27 disposals, seven marks, eight tackles, six clearances, and 764 metres gained.

The 29-year-old moves to 16th on the overall AFLCA coaches’ votes leaderboard with 51 votes from 13 games so far this season.

Ruckman Lachlan McAndrew collected eight votes from his 38 hit-outs, five clearances, and seven tackles, while forward Darcy Fogarty received five votes following a four-goal haul.

Midfielder/forward Izak Rankine (27 disposals, seven clearances, five marks) was awarded three votes, and James Borlase (nine spoils, four marks, 13 disposals) was awarded two votes.

Ben Keays (three goals, eight marks, 13 disposals) and Rory Laird (25 disposals at 92 per cent deficiency, eight marks, five tackles and nine pressure acts) rounded out the vote-getters with one apiece.
