Veteran Adelaide defender Rory Laird will be a test to face Richmond on Saturday night.

Laird has not played since Round 18 when he suffered a low-grade ankle syndesmosis.

“Lairdy just needs to get through training this week to have his hand up for our game against Richmond,” Crows General Manager High Performance Ian McKeown said.

“It’s a credit to him, he’s a true professional and completed everything asked during his rehab.”

Midfielders Sam Berry and James Peatling will both be listed as tests.

“Both Bez and JP were pretty sore, the week off was certainly warranted,” McKeown said.

“They’ll reintegrate into main training this weekend and both be a test ahead of Saturday.”

Experienced forward Callum Ah Chee was managed for the majority of the fourth quarter against Essendon.

He will be available to play this weekend.

Likewise, James Borlase missed most of the second half with hamstring awareness.

“Thankfully scans displayed no injury but we’ll need to see how James goes at training this week,” McKeown said.

Fellow defenders Nick Murray (knee) and Luke Nankervis (chest) will also both be a test this week. Despite getting through their respective games, both have pulled up sore.

Jordon Butts requires further assessment after hurting his calf/achillies in the first half of Saturday’s SANFL clash with South Adelaide.

While Mitch Hinge is expected to be available after he was a late out for the SANFL match following minor soreness from training on Thursday.

“Hingey is all fine and should be available this weekend,” McKeown said.

“He probably could have played but given he’s returning from injury, we made the cautious call to give him one more week off.
